The Digital Economy and Regional Futures research project (DERF) at AMC, University of Tasmania undertakes research on information and communication technology (ICT) in regional businesses and supply chains.  We focus on investigating how access to high-speed broadband—such as the National Broadband Network (NBN)—and development of ICT skills (eSkills) can transform rural and regional areas. A particular focus is on the futures created through use of smart technology in the delivery of government services to the home, health, transport, virtual supply chains, agriculture and small business retailers.

This project has positions available for candidates seeking to undertake graduate research in related fields.  Scholarships are available for eligible doctoral candidates.
